Jumper

Jumper

Starring: Hayden Christensen (Star Wars: Episode I - III), Samuel L. Jackson, Rachel Bilson (The Last Kiss), & Jamie Bell
Directed by: Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Mr. & Mrs. Smith)
Written by: David S. Goyer(Blade 1-3, Batman Begins), Jim Uhls & Simon Kinberg

Synopsis: "A genetic anomaly allows a young man to teleport himself anywhere. He discovers this gift has existed for centuries and finds himself in a war that has been raging for thousands of years between "Jumpers" and those who have sworn to kill them."

My Thoughts: I can wrap this one up in one word: "Boring." Its not a terrible movie, but its definitely a "wait and rent" kinda flick. Its worth watching once, and then never again. To be honest, if you've seen the theatrical trailer, then you've already seen the movie.

The special effects are phenomenal. There's no denying that. They're absolutely beautifully done. But that's probably the best part of the movie. The rest is redundancy, regurgitated characters and plot, and predictable dialogue. The scenery in the movie is beautiful. But the scenery and special effects are not enough to save this movie. This director is also known for directing The Bourne Identity and Mr. & Mrs. Smith. This movie is closer to mediocre Mr. & Mrs. Smith, than it is to Bourne Identity greatness.

Definitely not worth your $10 at the theatre. Just add it to your queue on Netflix in a month or two when it's released on DVD.
